How Mistakes Happen
Maybe you looked at the weekly pages, but not the appointments on your monthly pages.
Or, after you copied weekly tasks to today's daily docket, you added something to the weekly square instead of on your daily docket.
How to Avoid the Mistakes
1. Write each appointment/task only in one designated place.
Appointments go on my monthly spread. Tasks go in my weekly spread. Menus go on the back of my dashboard on a post-it note.
2. If you recopy to another spot (like your daily docket), have system for crossing out your old planner entry.
For example, if I copy appointments to my daily docket, I cross over my monthly calendar square for that day with a Frixion highlighter.
3. Use an arrow for a strong visual reminder to look at your daily docket.
When copying from weekly squares to my daily docket, I draw a neat, big arrow.
The arrow forces my brain to look over to the daily page. It makes it IMPOSSIBLE to simply look at the now out-of-date weekly entry, whether I am inputting new information for today or looking for old information.
