10 More Weeks

10 more weeks! And Ander arrived in 4 more weeks, comparing his arrival to today's pregnancy process. I have NOTHING done.

I don't have a stroller, car seat, or sling. I don't have a diaper or a bottle or a drop of formula or a monitor. (We can get away without some of this, since I'll be nursing mostly, but not the car seat! Ander's got in a wreck, so it's not available.)

The baby's room looks like a tornado hit it. The crib isn't up yet. The room isn't painted. Mommy and daddy's crap isn't moved out yet. No problem you say, since the baby is sleeping in our room? Still a problem! Our room doesn't have the bassinet part of the pack 'n play set up or the co-sleeper pulled out. And the baby needs to nap in it's room, since I might not hear him (the way my house is built) from my room to the living room.

Of course, we have plans every weekend. And by after work everyday, I just crash, in pain, contracting, and exhausted. Alan cares for Ander and cleans the house and helps with cooking, but really, we are just getting by.

Etcetera.

As far as stuff that you need, make a baby wish list - I'm sure that those of us who don't have a clue what to get (me) will find it very helpful. You can even do it all online (I know Target can). As far as the other stuff, next time I come down I can help out. I know it can be frustrating when you can't get stuff done when you expected it to, but it will get done somehow.

I'm sorry, did I just hear you say you are coming down to help Alan put up the crib and paint the room? Wonderful.

(Just joking, of course. ;))

Try Babies 'R US on-line. Though, I'll readily admit, we didn't make that list for you. It's for us and MIL is taking us shopping in three weeks. And it doesn't have much on it, because we don't need much (despite my crazy list) because we already have everything from Ander.

I really would be happy to come over some weekend and help you get stuff done. Working on other people's houses is more fun than working on mine ;-)

I understand how you feel! I still remember when Tad came. Our house wasn't even ready. It will all come together some how!! Good luck!! Maybe I can visit one weekend and my vampire and I can help.

Hugs! Can you take a weekend off? Or ask some friends over for a Getting Ready for Baby party?

I noticed you have Sony PlayStation 2: NeoPets: Darkest Faerie on the wishlist - is Alan trying to turn him into a geek that fast?
