How to Promote Your Blog For Free

***This post may contain affiliate links. See my "Disclaimer" link for additional details.***

I read a really funny but absolutely true meme on Facebook once that said,  "98.5% of being smart is knowing what you are dumb at."

blogging, meme. being smart

A lot of writers and bloggers read my blog. Some, like me, are bothered by that preposition at the end of that particular saying, even though they know the at is grammatically correct as long as it flows naturally in English speech.

If you are nerdy enough that you understood that point of grammar, you are a good enough writer to take the advice that I am about to give.

After all, my blogger friends already write witty, thoughtful, and insightful things every day.

I bet most bloggers are also plugged into promoting on social media.

But most of these writers are missing a free, simple way to use what they already wrote and promote their blogs.

Take something you have written that was worth reading, and make it into a meme.

It's that simple. For bonus points, don't actually write those words in the post. Just provide them in the form of graphic images where they would otherwise appear.

why to write, writing, blogging, meme

Add your blog website or book title to the quote and, voila, free advertising.

If your meme goes viral or your readers start sharing it on Facebook, everyone who reads it sees your website or book title.

If it's a pinnable graphic, people can pin it on Pinterest.

If nothing happens, you have still highlighted an important aspect of that particular piece of writing in a nice graphic. I just made these simple graphics on my laptop, so anyone can do it.

It's a win-win situation.

If you create a meme worth sharing, please note your blog post featuring it in the comments so I can visit!

That's a fun idea! I've created some memes independent of my blog, but I should start incorporating them right into the blog, too.

This is a great idea and something I have seen on many other blogs, I just have not taken advantage of it for myself! Thank you for the tip!

This is a helpful and doable idea. Thanks.
What program do you use to make your memes?

That's actually a great idea and sometimes I am really stuck for graphics, so I could sneak in one of these once in a while. And I just bought some wonderful travel images off of Fiverr, those would make a gorgeous background for a meme. I have been using Click to Tweet a lot, but I think I'll alternate it with these.
