As for going up and giving gift-givers a hug and thank-you, I don't think it's a bad thing but I would make my kids do it.Derwinicushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16082163458851553319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-863557816383416771.post-55136658428035135092009-06-29T12:50:29.968-05:002009-06-29T12:50:29.968-05:00I tend to follow Leah. I don't take offense. Some people are just friendlier than others. When we see family we do tell Tad to hug them and tell them hello when we get there. That's just how we are.Froghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14815575147390841235noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-863557816383416771.post-52321259342259227292009-06-28T21:43:56.625-05:002009-06-28T21:43:56.625-05:00I wasn't disagreeing with Kristy, it's cer...I wasn't disagreeing with Kristy, it's certainly a personal choice...it's just we grew up hugging and kissing everyone, didn't matter whether you hadn't seen them in a while or had never met them before, it's just what you did and there wasn't an option for being comfortable or uncomfortable with it. It's what we were taught, right along with please and thank you and everything else that you teach your children about social norms and what is culturally accepted and expected.learn-2-walkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12869191095458280439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-863557816383416771.post-40693140184393948472009-06-28T20:26:48.296-05:002009-06-28T20:26:48.296-05:00I've taken my friend's advice and implemen...I've taken my friend's advice and implemented a "kissing spot" on my kids' heads so that others don't kiss them on the lips. They can choose whom they want to kiss and otherwise will hopefully learn inappropriate behavior. I believe in personal space and don't want to hug everyone either!-Knowleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16513463850371312059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-863557816383416771.post-3331697636083040422009-06-28T20:08:32.472-05:002009-06-28T20:08:32.472-05:00Yeah, but if EVERYONE is hugging and kissing, that...Yeah, but if EVERYONE is hugging and kissing, that's different. I tend to agree with Kristy - don't make the kids be that physically affectionate unless they want to.Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06018153717290306059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-863557816383416771.post-75448355452922902062009-06-28T17:29:33.852-05:002009-06-28T17:29:33.852-05:00You obviously did not grow up in an Italian family...You obviously did not grow up in an Italian family. :-)learn-2-walkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12869191095458280439noreply@blogger.com
